Tanzania Wildlife Serengeti National Park

The name Serengeti conjures up images of millions of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle meandering about their migration routes with pride of lions, sometimes sleeping, sometimes alert and carefully stalking their prey. Cheetah peers across the endless Serengeti Plains.

Tanzania WildlifeTanzania Wildlife Ngorongoro crater

Tanzania Wildlife Surrounded by sheer walls rising 610 meters from the crater floor, this natural 259 sq. km provides a concert of life for all species.

On the floor of this “Garden of Eden” roam over 20,000 large animals including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhino. Animals are free to leave or enter the crater but most of them stay because of the plentiful water and food available on the crater floor throughout the year. Some of the other species are mainly wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, and gazelles. All these animals support large predators such as lions and leopard and scavengers such as hyena and jackals. More than a hundred species of birds reside within NCA including ostriches, kori bustards, secretary birds, crested cranes, egrets, red-billed ox-peckers and countless flamingos forming a pink blanket over the soda lake.

Lake Manyara

The park has good wildlife and is known for its legendary tree-climbing lions and impressively tusked elephants. Large buffalo, wildebeest and zebra herds congregate on the grassy plains. The hippo pool is a good place to see these creatures up close. The lake is a seasonal home to large flocks of flamingos and a wide array of water birds can be found on the shore at all times.

About Tarangire National Park in Tanzania

Tarangire National park is a home of lots of elephants inside the dry season, whilst game congregates alongside the river, and its symbolized by means of the baobab trees, developing in open acacia woodland. Tarangire is an ornithologists paradise, rich in birds of prey and a splendid diversity of Avifauna.
